Julia is a recent graduate who having taken part in a year of practice based placements, returned to create a knitted installation that charts the representation of the female form in current society. Watch this space for an update on what Julia is currently up to and her thoughts on placements.

Rachel Walsh, 2010. SAMPLE 10

Rachel Walsh's skills in knitting with wire have caught the attention of the judges at the Knitted Textile Awards 2010. She has been chosen as a finalist and will exhibit her work both at the Harrogate and London Knit and Stitch shows. Her work took inspiration from architecture and maps and the textile solution was to use knit as a drawing tool, adding each coloured yarn piece by piece to build up these evocative images
